Carolus Joseph Hellmer (1739 - 1811) was the son of Johann Georg Hellmer (1687 - 1770). He was one of the best violin maker in Prague in the 18th century. The violin from 1768 is typical of this master and represents a top Prague violin makers school. The sound is colorfull and powerfull. The violin is in a very good, well-preserved condition, including original label. The grafted neck.
